Linking an entire content section

The new “Link box with image” formatter turns a content section with a heading, text and image into a single clickable area. This provides an attractive way to link to further information, for example on overview and landing pages.

Previously, the “Link box” formatter could make an entire content section with a heading and text clickable. The new “Link box with image” formatter adds an image to this presentation. Visitors can click anywhere within the box to open the specified destination, rather than just an individual text link or button.

The shared destination is specified under “Link” in the content section. A border is not required to make the entire box clickable. The existing “Link box” formatter remains available without changes.

Arranging images and text

Many of the familiar element settings from the Text and image formatter are available:

  • Layout determines how the heading, image and text are arranged. For example, the image can appear above the text or to its left or right.
  •  Image size (desktop) and Image size (mobile) allow you to set the image size separately for desktop and mobile devices.
  •  Additional settings allow you to adjust the image format and control the display of Show image title and Show image copyright.

The Link display setting also remains available. It allows you to display a button or text link within the fully clickable box.
