To embed a SoundCloud audio file, you need the SoundCloud track ID. To obtain this ID, proceed as follows:

  • Create a new media content and open it in the form editor.
  • Open a second browser window.
  • In the second browser window, open the post you want to embed on the SoundCloud website.
  • Click on the Share button. A dialog box will open.
  • Click on Embed at the top of the dialog box. A line with a code will be displayed.
  • Click on the displayed code with the mouse and copy it to the clipboard (e.g., with Ctrl-C in Windows or Cmd-C on a Mac).
  • Switch back to the first browser window with the media content open in the editor.
  • In the form editor, copy the contents of the clipboard into the Preface field.
  • Among many other things, the copied code contains a web address that looks like this: api.soundcloud.com/tracks/1234567890.
  • The number after api.soundcloud.com/tracks/ is the SoundCloud track ID you are looking for (in this example, 1234567890). Copy this to the clipboard.
  • In the editor, activate the Media type field and select SoundCloud Audio.
  • Copy the SoundCloud track ID from the clipboard into the field provided.
  • Finally, delete the content in the Preface field that is no longer needed.
