Query of personal data

Article 15 of the GDPR requires website operators to inform users whether their personal data is being processed and, if so, which data. This applies to all data and information relating to the individual (Article 4(1)(1) GDPR) that is available to the website operator.

Personal data may be stored in OpenCms. The Person data search app in Launchpad helps administrators find such data and respond to corresponding requests.

A distinction has to be made between web users and OpenCms editors.

  • Web users are visitors to the website who do NOT work editorially with the OpenCms system. As a rule, they do not need to log in.
  • OpenCms editors work editorially with the OpenCms system to create content. To do this, they must log in to OpenCms.

Data from web users can be stored in OpenCms in various ways:

  • As participants of an event.
  • As data from forms.
  • As subscribers to a newsletter.
  • As users of a password-protected area.

The Person data search app helps you find such personal data.

Note: This app is only available to administrators.

Online bookings or subscriptions can be automatically deleted a certain amount of time after the end of the event (or church service). This is particularly useful for complying with data protection regulations, as subscriptions often contain personal information about participants.
