Display of the template used in the page editor

June 23, 2025
A template marker is now displayed in the Opencms toolbar, indicating the template used by the page.

This marker is not displayed in preview mode.

In addition, the current screen width of the browser is displayed for the Mercury template for information purposes, ranging from XS (very small) to XXL (extra extra large).

The marker is displayed as the default setting for every user. A user can optionally disable the display by deselecting the “Show template marker” option in their settings.

This feature is also available for the Apollo template. The Archdiocese of Cologne also displays older templates, such as “V8.”

With these additional templates, the screen size may not be displayed next to the template name. Please also note that the names of the screen sizes may differ in the various templates. For example, the Mercury screen size “LG” corresponds to “MD” in Apollo.
