Optimization of the Themegenerator

In order to better meet practical requirements, some of the fields in the theme configuration have been rearranged and revised in version 23-09.

Mercury theme configurations are the best way to give websites a unique look.

In the four tabs Global, Header/Footer, Navigation, and Advanced of the Mercury theme configuration content type, you can make extensive settings for background colors, font colors, font sizes, and much more.
The following optimizations were made in version 23-09:

  • The settings for hover color links and the three accent colors are now prominently displayed in the first tab, just below the theme's main color; previously, they were located in the last tab,
  • There is a new WCAG Contrast checkbox. When selected, text and background colors are always calculated in terms of their contrast to ensure accessibility in accordance with the WCAG standard. This was not the case in the previous version and had to be set manually using workarounds, e.g., by using the text-lightness-threshold variable.
  • For the template variant, there is now a drop-down menu that automatically recognizes the template variant currently configured in the sitemap (de) and sets it accordingly. Previously, there was a checkbox here that had to be used to manually switch between the standard and burger variants of the Mercury template.

All optimizations to existing theme configurations are performed internally by OpenCms. No manual changes to existing theme configurations are necessary. All previous settings remain unchanged.
