Individual link texts for media elements

With version 25-09, the text of link buttons in lists with media elements can be customized. Instead of a general link label such as “More,” the link text can now indicate the media type, e.g., “Watch video” or “Listen to audio.”

Until now, the same text has always been used for link buttons in lists. The default text is “More” and can be changed once for all link buttons in a list, e.g., to “Go to article”. Such generic link texts are not satisfactory in terms of accessibility, especially in mixed lists.

The text can now be customized especially for media elements. The text takes into account the type of media element, which is either audio, video, or a generic media file where the type is unknown.

For the media types audio and video, the standard texts “To the audio clip” and “To the video clip” are usually available. There is no default value for generic media files.

The default texts can be further customized for each tenant in the tenants app. The texts always refer to all lists of a tenant, never to a single list.
