Daily readings through a new interface

The daily readings will now be provided through a new interface from katholisch.de. The biblical texts use the revised 2016 Einheitsübersetzung in the version used in the Mass lectionary.

The “Scripture lection” dynamic function continues to display the readings, responsorial psalm and Gospel for the current day. The name of the liturgical day is also displayed.

The change is necessary because the previous interface provided by the "Deutsches liturgisches Institut" is being discontinued. Daily readings already embedded on pages can continue to be used without being added again.

Familiar presentation with updated biblical texts

The presentation largely follows the previous layout. Paragraphs, indentation and liturgical symbols are preserved from the supplied texts. They can be presented in a different way than before. A notice below the daily readings identifies their source and explains the usage rights.

The administration sets up access to the new interface. Editors do not need to maintain the texts that change each day.
