It's time to celebrate:New Year

In Western culture, January 1 has been widely accepted as the start of the year since the Middle Ages. Regardless of this, other dates have been and continue to be used in different regions and at different times.

In 153 BC, the Romans moved the start of the official year from March 1 to January 1, the day the consuls took office, according to their calendar. However, the calendar year still kept the March style with March 1 as the start of the year. It was not until Caesar's calendar reform (Julian calendar) that the originally appended months of January and February were placed at the beginning of the year, so that the calendar year and the official year began on January 1.

As a result, the counting months (September, meaning “seventh”; October, “eighth”; November, ‘ninth’; December, “tenth”) also lost their positions corresponding to their names.

In the detail view, users of the website can optionally download the data for events and church services as an iCalendar file. This allows the event data to be transferred to a personal calendar.

To activate this option, the Show iCalendar link option is available in the element settings of the Formatter Detail View. If this is set, the Add to Calendar option is displayed.

The costs of an event can be specified in the form editor under the “Bookability” tab. Here, the Costs / price class entry must be activated.

The following options are available:

  • Price class: The name of the ticket price class. Here you can enter, for example, “For adults” or “For children.” If there are no different price classes, a general text such as “Admission price” or “Day ticket” should be entered here.
  • Price: The price for the price class per ticket.
  • Currency: The currency in which payment is to be made. Euro is the default setting.
  • Payment link: An optional link to a page with payment options or further information about this price category.

The display of the event performer in the detail view can be controlled via the element setting Show performers. The following settings are possible:

  • Don't show the performer
  • Only show performers if entered in content (Default)
  • If nothing is entered in the content field, the name of the original site from which the displayed event originates can be displayed instead
