Tenants app for basic data

With the Tenants app, administrators can centrally store basic data for websites and easily configure various template-specific settings.

Note: The Tenants app is only available to users who have the role of “Root Administrator.” The app is not visible to any other users.

The Tenants app can be accessed via the Launchpad. The app can be used to edit the settings of all sites configured in OpenCms, as well as subsites that have been configured to be displayed in the site selection.

After launching the app, all available clients are displayed in the default order of the website administration. Sites configured in OpenCms are visually distinguished from listed subsites. To make clients easier to find, the sorting can be adjusted and a filter term can be entered.

In addition, the Tenants app can be configured via the gear icon in the toolbar. Here, groups can be created and edited, which can then be assigned to individual clients. The client list can then be filtered by these group names.

The master data view displays information about the site URL, the template used, the assigned groups, and the client's technical or organizational contact persons. These can be edited directly.

The changes must be confirmed by clicking on the “Save basic data” button.

In addition, the website can be edited directly via the toolbar as in the “Websites” app, and permissions for the site's start folder can also be set.

If the page editor or explorer is called up via the toolbar, the website of the currently displayed client is automatically selected.

If the Mercury template is used, clicking on “Mercury Settings” in the left column opens an overview of special settings for pages that use the Mercury template.

Currently, the following data can be maintained:

  • SEO data: Information about the website publisher, such as the name, URL, and logo.
  • Privacy settings: This shows which function detail pages are configured for data protection (imprint, privacy policy, legal notices) and where they are located.
To configure the imprint or privacy policy, you can maintain the path to the configuration file of the privacy policy toolkit for the respective page here.
  • Additional settings: Here you can make template-specific settings such as the width of the page column or link settings for the newsletter.
